Pushpagiri is located around 36 kms from Somwarpet. Pushpagiri is the second highest peak in Coorg next to Thadiyandamol

Pushpagiri is around 1.5 km from Kumaralli village amidst the jungles. A 10 km trekking from the base, Bhagati will lead to the Pushpagiri peak. Trekkers can also cross Subramanya, located in Dakshina Kannada of Pushpagiri Range. The trekking zone can be approached from Pushpagiri or from Kumaraparvat peaks.

The Pushpagiri wild life sanctuary is a very attractive range and home to rare and endangered birdlife and is considered as one of the important bird areas of the world. Indian Wild Dog, Civet, Indian Giant Squirrel, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Gaur, Asian Elephant, Boars, Giant Flying Squirrel, Stripe-necked mongoose and mouse deer are some of the animal species found here and the sanctuary has been proposed as a World Heritage Site.
